MARYLAND INSURANCE
Insurance for Maryland drivers, families and businesses
We shop your coverage so you do not have to. Tell us what you need and we will compare options and explain them in plain English before you buy.
What Maryland requires on every registered vehicle
Maryland law requires every registered vehicle to carry active liability insurance at all times, even when the car is parked. The state minimums are $30,000 for bodily injury per person, $60,000 for bodily injury per accident, and $15,000 for property damage.
Those minimums protect other people, not you. A serious crash can cost far more than $60,000, and you are responsible for the difference. Many drivers choose higher limits for that reason.
Maryland also has rules about uninsured motorist and personal injury protection coverage. We walk through what applies to you when we quote.
Source for the minimum limits: Maryland MDOT Motor Vehicle Administration. Rules can change, so confirm current requirements before you buy.
